Wix earned the top spot on my list due to its robust set of music-friendly features, ease of use, and flexibility. It’s suitable for creating websites for musicians, artists, and bands alike to promote their gigs, sell merchandise, and engage with fans – all from one centralized platform.

Features for musicians

  • Music platform integration. You will be able to connect your website with Spotify, SoundCloud, iTunes, and other streaming services to showcase your music.
  • Built-in music player. Wix Music Player lets you upload your music tracks and even whole albums directly to your website.

  • Merch online store. You can build an online store and sell your merch commission-free.

Musician website built with Wix

To test Wix’s full capacity, I created a website for a band. I focused on event and gig promotion. Therefore, I asked Wix’s AI agent Aria to create a vibrant website with a ticket-selling option, and it generated a layout in a few minutes.

My experience building a musician/band website with Wix

Wix works well as a band website builder. When I was building a promotional website for my band, I could choose from available templates, build a website from scratch, or let Aria, Wix's AI assistant, generate a website for me. I decided to use Aria as a starting point and then customize the generated site to better match my band's style.

Wix’s editor is not a complicated tool to work with. The bar on the left gives you access to its menu. You can add pages, elements, apps, and manage your background. For example, the event page is quite nice, and although editing it requires a little more technical skills, it’s still highly customizable. Check our complete Wix review to learn more about its functionalities.

I liked that Wix offers in-depth customization options. This allowed me to tweak the AI-generated designs to my liking. Also, Wix includes an extensive app store, with a wide range of music apps, such as YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, and a specialized Wix Music app, which allows users to upload their own tracks and sell their music.

Overall, Wix has everything you need from a musician or band website builder. The option to start with Aria makes getting your site online even easier, while the editor gives you plenty of flexibility to personalize it afterward.

Pricing

Wix has a free plan, and it can build the best free websites for musicians. However, you can’t connect your own subdomain and need to use one from Wix. There are 4 paid plans, with prices ranging from $10.00/month to $52.50/month. All plans offer a distinct set of features, which we assessed in our comprehensive review of Wix's pricing.

For musicians and bands, I recommend the Core plan at $14.00/month – it includes 50GB of storage, 5 hours of video, basic site analytics and eCommerce features, a free professional logo maker, an event calendar, and site booster apps.

Hostinger Website Builder is the most affordable website builder for musicians I’ve tested. Yet, with Hostinger, a low price doesn’t mean it's limited. It has an extensive selection of features for websites for musicians, including various media embedding options and AI tools. Plus, it’s very easy to work with.

Features for musicians

  • Audio and music embedding. You’ll be able to share your music with your fans directly on your website.

Musician website built with Hostinger Website Builder

I wanted to see for myself how suitable Hostinger Website Builder is for musicians. With this goal in mind, I built a website that represents a musician and their style, while also making it easy to promote concerts and sell merch.

My experience building a musician/band website with Hostinger Website Builder

I found that the process of creating a musician or band website with Hostinger Website Builder was intuitive and effortless. Initially, Hostinger Website Builder asked me whether I wanted to choose a pre-made template or answer a few questions and let the AI do the work.

I built my website using the AI website builder, as it was able to generate a fully functional website based on my provided description. The generated website automatically included separate sections for the merchandise store, promotional videos, and live concert schedules. Unlike other known website builders, Hostinger offers a highly intuitive website editing experience, with drag-and-drop functionality, easy section management, and built-in integrations.

However, I wish Hostinger had more audio integrations and templates for musicians, as it currently offers only 7. The built-in options offer only YouTube window integration. For more advanced setups, users can embed audio files using a code editor or a third-party audio widget. For more information, you can check out our in-depth review of Hostinger Website Builder.

Pricing

Hostinger Website Builder is one of the cheapest band website makers. It offers two plans: Premium Website Builder and Business Website Builder. The Premium plan starts at $2.69/month and includes a free domain, email marketing tools, AI Website Builder, and marketing integrations. The Business plan starts at $3.41/month and offers more AI and eCommerce features.

3. Shopify – website builder for selling merchandise

Shopify is a well-known eCommerce platform, which is great for selling digital and physical products. For this reason, it’s a good website builder for bands selling merch or music.

Features for musicians

  • Point of sale (POS) system. This feature enables musicians to sell merchandise and music in person at concerts, festivals, or pop-up shops by syncing inventory between online and offline sales.
  • Customizable templates. You can design stores that align with your artistic identity.
  • Marketing tools. Email marketing and social media integrations help musicians promote their gigs, new releases, track engagement, and manage campaigns on social media platforms.

Musician website built with Shopify

I built an eCommerce website aimed at selling merchandise and music. I chose a generic eCommerce template, since Shopify doesn’t offer music-related ones. Yet, I was able to customize it.

shopify music web builder
I created an online store for selling merchandise for musicians

My experience building a musician/band website with Shopify

When I was building my merchandise store, I uploaded some of my own generated merch items, representing a rock band. I found the process of uploading products intuitive. It had clear fields for images, prices, and shipping weight.

While I didn’t have any problems adding my own products, setting up payments was a more time-consuming process. It took me longer because I had to provide detailed business and banking information. However, due to clear labeling and an organized interface, it wasn’t overly complicated.

In my opinion, Shopify works best as an eCommerce platform and a CMS, rather than a website builder. The platform only offers 24 free templates, none of which are related to music in any way. Alternatively, users can use the Theme generator, which offers more template options. However, at least during my testing, it was still unable to generate a music-related template. Therefore, the only way to make a more personalized online store is to look for third-party themes. For more information read our full Shopify review.

Pricing

Shopify offers 3 main paid plans, with the prices ranging between $29.00/month and $299.00/month. The 4th plan is aimed at complex businesses and costs $2,300.00/month. While Shopify is a pricier provider, it has some affordable ways to test it out. It offers a 3-day free trial, after which you can continue using Shopify for $1.00/month for the next 3 months.

4. Squarespace – best website builder for music portfolio promotion

Squarespace is a good option for musicians building a website to sell records or merchandise since it includes excellent eCommerce features. This earned it a spot on my list of the best website builders for musicians looking to showcase their music portfolios.

Features for musicians

  • Event pages and calendars. You can add upcoming shows and events to your site to keep your fans informed.
  • Audio block. Upload your music directly to your site and make it downloadable for your fans, or, alternatively, embed tracks from platforms like Spotify and SoundCloud.
  • Video block. Self-host your music videos or share your YouTube videos by embedding them directly on your website.
  • Social media integration. Share the feed of your social media channels directly on your website.
  • Mailing list. Use customer forms to build and manage your fan mailing list, sync it with Squarespace’s email marketing tool, and connect third-party services.

Musician website built with Squarespace

To test Squarespace, I created a DJ website. At first, I used the Blueprint AI website builder, but then I opted for one of the available templates, as I didn’t get the results I wanted with the first option.

squarespace music web builder
Creating a website with a predefined template on Squarespace

My experience building a musician/band website with Squarespace

When I was creating a website, Squarespace offered two options: use its Blueprint AI builder or select one of the pre-built templates. At first, I chose the Blueprint AI builder, but it struggled to create a design that I wanted. So, I decided to make my website with one of the ready-made templates instead.

The editing process was simple and user-friendly. The way it worked reminded me of Hostinger Website Builder, as both providers offer a drag-and-drop editor and essential tool integrations. What’s more, I could easily integrate audio with music-related blocks, which can hold user-uploaded audio files, like SoundCloud and Bandsintown blocks.

Overall, the finished website looked beautiful. Squarespace is a great choice for musicians looking to showcase their music portfolios. Also, it allows merchandise, but for that, you’ll need to choose the Squarespace eCommerce plan. For more insights, read our Squarespace review.

Pricing

The provider offers 4 plans ranging from $17.00/month to $99.00/month, which you can learn more about in our Squarespace pricing review. While this builder doesn’t have a forever-free plan, it offers a 14-day free trial to see if Squarespace truly is for you. Each plan includes a free domain for a year, SSL certificates, unlimited bandwidth and storage, SEO tools, access to extensions, and basic metrics. The Core plan ($29.00/month) is the best for musicians looking to sell their merch and records. If you want to simultaneously sell your products on Instagram, I recommend the Plus plan ($49.00/month).

5. Weebly – website builder for bands and presence promotion

Weebly is a great website builder for musicians looking to promote themselves and their music. It has flexible product options from physical to digital items, so you can sell various types of merchandise and music.

Features for musicians

  • Music player plugin. Lets you easily stream audio and create playlists from SoundCloud or MP3 files.
  • YouTube video integration. Easily embed or host videos directly on your website.
  • Social media link integration. Add links to your social media and help your fans see what you do.
  • Events calendar. Add concert or tour dates, upcoming releases, and other special events to inform your audience.
  • Digital Downloads plugin. Easily sell your music and videos and get paid instantly via your PayPal or Stripe account.

Musician website built with Weebly

To try out Weebly, I picked the only available musician template, Backstage. It was good enough for creating an artist or band page to promote their presence.

weebly music web builder
A musician's website built with Weebly

My experience building a musician/band website with Weebly

Weebly offers a minimalistic website builder with a small range of pre-built templates. Unfortunately, only a single template is related to music, and it only includes a single complete page. Weebly also doesn’t have an AI builder, so all the edits had to be done manually.

Creating a website with Weebly was very easy. After choosing a template, I was taken directly to the editor, which was simple to navigate. However, Weebly lacks an AI website creation tool, a feature many other providers now offer to simplify the process.

After I picked a template and customized it to my liking, I moved to migrations. I liked how easy it was to migrate from platforms like Shopify or Etsy, and that Weebly offers flexible product options, from selling physical items, digital music, or tickets to events to receiving donations. Additionally, the platform offers an app store, which includes music player integrations. However, all of them are paid, with the cheapest one costing $9.00. If you want to learn more, read our full Weebly review.

Pricing

Weebly is free to try out, but to launch your website, you will need to select a paid plan. These range from $13.00/month to $32.00/month. All paid plans come with a free domain, eCommerce, and marketing features. For musicians, the Professional plan ($15.00/month) is the best option, as it provides unlimited storage and removes Square ads.

6. Bandzoogle – website builder specifically for musicians

bandzoogle banner
Rating:
4
Key music features: Music player, gig calendar, crowdfunding, merch store, fan mailing list
Templates:310+
Free domain:✅ Yes
Free SSL:✅ Yes
Pricing:From $9.16/month
Best deal:

Bandzoogle is a musician website builder, and unlike general website builders, it comes with music-focused tools, such as a music player, gig calendar, crowdfunding, and a merch store, so you don’t need any third-party apps. Bandzoogle launched in 2003, but I only added it to this list in July 2026 because its recent updates, especially in 2025, significantly improved the platform, with a streamlined online store, better navigation, and deeper live-music integrations.

Features for musicians

  • Music player. Upload your own songs, create playlists, and let fans stream or purchase your music directly from your website.
  • Tour calendar. You can display upcoming concerts and tours with dedicated gig listings.
  • Merch store. Allows selling music downloads, physical merchandise, and tickets, without paying commission on your sales.
  • Crowdfunding tools. You can accept direct fan support through built-in crowdfunding features, rather than relying on third-party platforms.
  • Electronic press kit. Allows you to create a professional press kit with music, videos, photos, and contact information to share with venues and media.

Musician website built with Bandzoogle

To test Bandzoogle as a band website maker, I chose its Benily - Sombre template. Since the builder doesn’t include an AI website generator, I started by browsing its music-specific templates. I liked that I could filter templates by genre, making it much easier to find a design I liked.

bandzoogle music web builder
Creating a website with a template on Bandzoogle

My experience building a musician/band website with Bandzoogle

Bandzoogle’s editor includes dedicated sections for songs, gigs, videos, merchandise, and crowdfunding, so I had all the core functionality already built in. I also like the wide selection of music-focused templates and being able to view them by genre.

However, I found the editor itself less intuitive than builders like Hostinger or Wix. While it offers many customization options, the interface felt a bit clunky, and the lack of an AI assistant meant I had to manually locate all the features and edit the site.

Overall, Bandzoogle is one of the strongest choices as a website builder for bands, as it focuses entirely on the music industry. If you’d rather have a large variety of built-in tools over AI assistance, it’s an excellent option.

Pricing

Bandzoogle offers 3 website plans ranging from $9.16/month to $18.33/month. Each plan includes a free custom domain, unlimited bandwidth, SSL, website, and EPK templates, a blog, and a built-in music player. I recommend the Standard plan, as it lets you sell both music and merchandise. If you need unlimited pages, tracks, and photos, plus advanced promotion, selling, and analytics tools, the Pro plan is the better choice.

How to choose a web builder for musicians and bands

If you’re looking into how to make a musician website, you need to consider what it offers and whether it has all the features that you need.

To build a beautiful website to promote your music, consider the most essential features. You need the website builder to allow media embeds or widgets – including for platforms such as Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, and social media sites. Additionally, eCommerce features are essential if you want to sell merch and your music through the site. Page templates and event creation functionalities are great for promoting your performances – your fan base and new listeners can see where and when you’re performing next.

Furthermore, consider the flexibility and ease of use. It’s great if the website builder offers templates specifically for music sites. It’s even better if you can easily switch things up with an editor and don’t need to rely too much on pre-made templates. However, if you’ve never made a website before, the best website builder is one that is easy to navigate and doesn’t require technical expertise.
